The bheka Wooden Back Roller is a wonderful tool for releasing tight back muscles.

A simple, effective way to take a tense uncomfortable area of the body and make it feel great.

The Back Roller's shape is excellent for deeply massaging the extensor muscles of the back.
Releasing tension in these muscles often brings much needed relief to back pain sufferers.

To enjoy the benefits of the deep release and relief you can achieve with the bheka Back Roller is simple. There are various ways to enjoy it and I will describe two ways here:

Method one is from the top down. Lay on the floor on a mat or blanket. Place the roller behind the neck with your spinal column in the center of the middle notch and bend your knees so your feet are flat on the floor. In this position it is easy to modulate the amount of pressure you put on the roller. Work in one area till you feel ready to move on and then roll your up on the roller so it moves down your spine. Find the next spot you want to encourage to relax and stay there till satisfied it is time to move on. In this way you can work all the way down the back and even massage the glutes if you like.

The second way of doing this is to start at the lower back and work up. Either way it pays to work slowly and find the places that are most enjoyable to linger in. I find that once my back loosened up it can be fun to roll an inch or two up and down in some areas. Also it can feel great once a lot of release is achieve to slowly roll the full length of the spine. Work slowly and consciously, especially taking your time at first, to find what works best for you and your back.
